How to have a successful life in 2010? Put God F.I.R.S.T.!!! "In everything you do, put God FIRST, and he will direct you and crown your efforts with success." -Prov.3:6 (TLB) Let me share with you 5 ways to put God first in your life and your family.
F - FINANCES
Faithfully tithe 10% to remind ourselves to put God first in our lives. God will bless you if you learn to put God first in your finances. Tithing is an act of worship. It is not a charity work. It is putting God first in your finances. You let God guide you in managing the money He has given you. Tithing is also an act of faith. You trust God for He will take care of our needs. If God take cares of the birds up there, He certainly will take care of us because we are far more valuable then them.
I - INTEREST
If God's really going to be number one in your life, you put Him first in your interest -fun time, working time, free time... EVERYTHING! "Whatever you eat or drink or whatever you do, you must do all for the glory of God" - 1 Cor. 10:31 (NLT) Thus, put God first in whatever you do and you do all for the glory of God.
R - RELATIONSHIP
Today there are many broken relationship, broken marriages, and broken families. One of the main reasons is because they build on the wrong foundation. If you are serious to build a healthy relationship, you need to have healthy relationship with God. Allow God to strengthen your relationship by putting Him first in your life.
S - SCHEDULE
"Making the best use of the time, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is" -Eph.5:16-17 (ESV) Make a daily appointment with God (Quiet Time). Read the Bible and talk to God about all the things you've got to do and ask, "What do You want me to do?" Let Him guide you otherwise the time will guide you and you end up doing nothing, wasting another day.
T - TROUBLES
when you face unexpected problems, pressures, or crisis, who do you turn to? God says, "Turn to ME first when you got a problem." many people, when they're in a tight situation, prayer are the last resort, not the first option. "Trust me in your times of trouble, and I will rescue you, and you will give me glory." -Ps.50:15 (NLT)
When God is not first in any of these five areas we begin to worry about it. If you want to have a successful life and a strong family you got to have the right foundation. You got to put God first.
